About NeonLingo
NeonLingo is a free language learning browser extension for Chrome and Edge. NeonLingo translates any word as you read, saves it to your wordbook automatically, and highlights it again everywhere you browse — so you learn vocabulary from the pages you already read, in 30 languages.
What NeonLingo is
NeonLingo is a browser extension for vocabulary acquisition, not a full-page translator. NeonLingo turns everyday web reading into language practice: NeonLingo shows an in-context translation the moment you select a word, saves that word to a wordbook automatically, and re-highlights it on any later page so repeated exposure does the remembering. NeonLingo works on any webpage in 30 languages and is free to install, with no account required.
How NeonLingo is different
Most vocabulary tools stop at translation, and most immersion tools only work on video subtitles. NeonLingo is built for the articles, docs, and forums you read every day, and around retention: every word you look up comes back through cross-site highlighting and spaced-repetition review. Premium adds Immersion mode, which swaps select words on native-language pages into your target language one step above your level — the i+1 principle from linguist Stephen Krashen.
Who NeonLingo is for
NeonLingo is for self-directed learners who already read in or toward their target language and want vocabulary practice built into browsing, without a separate flashcard app or study session. NeonLingo supports 30 languages.
